Have you ever thought about starting your own business? Wondering what it truly takes to succeed?

Women in NAAAP is excited to introduce a new event series spotlighting AAPI female entrepreneurs and business owners who have boldly forged their own paths.

In this interactive and candid conversation, you’ll hear directly from women who have:

  • Turned ideas into thriving businesses
  • Taken the leap from concept to launch
  • Navigated uncertainty and overcome obstacles
  • Built resilience, confidence, and assertiveness in competitive spaces

This is your opportunity to ask anything and everything — from startup challenges and funding realities to leadership lessons and moments of self-doubt. Learn what inspired them to begin, what sustained them through setbacks, and what continues to drive their success today.

Whether you’re exploring entrepreneurship, building a side venture, or simply looking for inspiration, this series offers real stories, practical insights, and powerful networking opportunities.

Come curious. Leave empowered.

We are honored to feature in our initial series: The Glow Place

Founded in 2020 by 2 sisters who want to share their passion for creating and sustaining a beautiful, healthy glow inside and out. They love partnering with companies that use clean, non-toxic ingredients, give back to charities and care about protecting the environment.

co-Founder Bios:

Jeannie is a Mt. Prospect resident, happily married mother of 4 and a Realtor with Baird and Warner-Edgebrook. She’s served on the board at NAAAP-Chicago and has volunteered with other non-profit organizations to make a difference in local communities. She also served on the Diversity & Inclusion Multi-Cultural Network committee at T-Mobile where she worked for 17 years until 2020.

Janet has always had a love of science and a respect for nature. She was on track to study biomimicry in the early 90s but life had other plans. The detour meant a variety of experiences in a wide range of industries. She would land in financial services at Ameriprise Financial where she has worked for the past 18 years until 2020. She looks forward to returning to her chemistry roots and curating clean, effective products for The Glow Place by combining the best of science and nature.

Light food and drinks will be provided and of course, an opportunity to shop!
