In celebration of Lunar New Year 2025, the Year of the Snake, embark on a journey with NAAAP to explore the rich history of traditions that make this festive season so meaningful. Stephen Tsang
Stephen Tsang has proudly called Edmonton, Canada home since 1979. A dedicated Government of Alberta Compliance Officer, he has also been practicing acupuncture for over 40 years, demonstrating his commitment to health and wellness.
As the former President of the Edmonton Chinese Bilingual Education Association, Stephen played a pivotal role in advancing the world-renowned Chinese Bilingual Program, which now thrives in 13 public schools and serves over 2,000 members. His efforts have made the program a highly sought-after educational opportunity, enriching the community with bilingual learning. Beyond education, Stephen is deeply involved in organizing vibrant Chinese community events, such as Chinese New Year celebrations, the Heritage Festival’s Chinese Pavilion, and the Mid-Autumn Festival. He shares his passion for Chinese calligraphy by teaching at the Confucius Institute in Edmonton, preserving and promoting this timeless art form.
In addition, Stephen enjoys producing cultural galas and performances, showcasing the richness of Chinese heritage and fostering a deeper understanding of Chinese culture within the broader community. His dedication continues to leave a lasting impact on Edmonton’s cultural landscape.
