Join the Mentoring Program with a special panel discussion on optimizing one's role as a mentor or mentee. 

Featuring financial advisor and entrepreneur, Maggie Xiaomin Wu, and entertainment editor and writer, Cynthia Wang, this panel will be moderated by NAAAP-Chicago's Leadership and Professional Development Committee Co-Chair, Tyng Kam.  Panelists will discuss the benefits of being a mentor, building a meaningful mentor-mentee relationship, and the challenges of being a minority in senior leadership positions.

PANEL SPEAKERS

Maggie Xiaomin Wu

Maggie is a fully-licensed financial advisor and business owner, helping families and communities realize their financial dream. With 18-years of experience working in corporate America, Maggie has worked as Head of Marketing, Marketing Director with companies such as Groupon, Walmart, World Vision.  Maggie holds an MBA from the University of Rochester Simon Business School. 

 

 

 

 Cynthia Wang 

Cynthia is a Sydney-based freelance editor and writer. She has covered five Olympics, six Survivor locations, and every major award show during an 18-year career at People that included writing and reporting the magazine's first-ever profiles on Jay-Z, Jimmy Kimmel, and Evan Rachel Wood. A graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, she lectures at the Medill-Northwestern Journalism Institute (the “cherub” program) and has previously been named the Asian American Journalists Association’s National Member of the Year.
