On April 1, 2026, the Supreme Court will hear oral argument on Trump v. Barbara. The question before the Supreme Court is whether President Trump's January 20, 2025 Executive Order, "Protecting the Meaning and Value of American Citizenship," complies with the Citizenship Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment, which provides that those "born * * * in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof," are U.S. citizens.
