Solos and Groups Submissions are Accepted!
Groups May Have a Maximum of Two Backup Dancers (Who Do Not Sing)
Groups with only one (1) Vocalist may compete at the Preliminaries with as many backup dancers, but if selected to advance, only two (2) backup dancers will advance. It is to your benefit to have multiple singers if your group composition is larger than three (3) members.
All interested competitors please submit the following materials to Taste of Korea (tokchicago@gmail.com) by 11:59 PM CST June 15, 2019.
Name, Age, and State of Residence (Group Name, if Applicable)
Full Cover (Video Preferred) of One K-Pop Song
(Include Your (Group) Name, Artist, and Song Title in File Name)
If you are competing in the Performance (Dance) Preliminaries, you may not compete in the Vocal (Singing) Preliminaries.
IMPORTANT
The 1st place winner of the Midwest Preliminaries who meets the eligibility requirements of the Changwon K-POP World Festival will advance as a contestant eligible to compete for an opportunity to be part of the global qualifying round (complete with a trip to Korea) to compete in the 2019 Changwon K-POP World Festival (#ChangFe).

Rules for Competing in the 2019 US Midwest Preliminaries
1. All Solos, Duets and Groups must have submitted and qualified via passing the online submission process.
(SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 11:59 PM CST June 15, 2019)
2. The song(s) of choice must be 100% the artists' choreography and music; fanmade (i.e. English) versions or original choreography are not allowed. Musicality is important, no profanity.
3. Contestants must use one full K-POP song.
Medleys are allowed, but must be of the same artist. Medleys can be at maximum 4:00 minutes in length.
4. Music must provided on a Phone, iPod or MP3 player.
(No CDs will be accepted.).
The advancing contestants must meet the following eligibility requirements.
1. Must be a resident of one of the following States:
Illinois, Indiana, Alabama, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin
2. Contestants for whom both parents carry (or have carried at any point in time) Korean citizenship are NOT eligible to compete. (Contestants for whom a single parent carries (or has carried) Korean citizenship, however, is still eligible.)
3. Contestants must not be restricted from traveling overseas.
4. Contestants must have a current passport. If you are selected as a finalist (winner of the Midwest Preliminary), you will need to provide a copy of your passport within one week of selection.
5. Contestants must agree to be filmed and broadcast by KBS (Korean Broadcasting System) and ARIRANG KOREA TV in both Chicago and Korea.
