NAAAP-Chicago has partnered with Shedd Aquarium to host a Halloween Beach Clean-Up!

Bring your family out to learn more about Shedd Aquarium's conservation efforts around Chicago and lend a hand to remove litter and invasive plants in Chicago's Chinatown riverside park, Ping Tom Memorial Park.

Ping Tom Memorial Park, originally a railroad yard, was created to provide the children of Chinatown access to a neighborhood park and recreational area. Ping Tom (1935-1995) was a lifelong resident of Chinatown and most noted civic leader. He served as an advisor to U.S. senators, Illinois governors, and Chicago mayors as well as was actively involved in numerous prominent civic and cultural institutions.

Halloween-themed snacks and coffee will be provided!

Make sure to bring your best Halloween costume for our costume competition!

WHAT TO BRING

  • Reusable water bottles
  • Snacks
  • Weather-appropriate outdoor clothing
  • Shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty

Please bring your mask and sign the volunteer waiver day of the event.
